Dedicated to Prisoners of War

There is not much I can do about pushing India's POW issue further but I couldn’t stop myself from writing this poem; and I dedicate it to the entire Indian army POW still waiting for their freedom.

To the epitome of braveness
It would be still less
If I salute you a thousand times
For guarding us from impending crimes

I wasn’t born then,
When stood all you brave men
In front of the enemy,
The never losing… Indian army

Time has moved ahead,
We no longer need to dread
Amidst our loved ones, safe and sound,
In our sky, our ground

With only one grief in the heart,
You lie in the days of the past
With no signs of freedom,
From the atrocities of some

Frustrated and helpless we are,
Unable to get you out of the bar
Forgive us for the blame,
For not relieving you, from your pain.

Monsoon magic

Hiding the lord of light
When the clouds covers the skies,

Ohh! What a happy gloomy feeling… arise

Looking at the water drops
From the corner of the panes,
Gentle breeze touches my face

No answer appears right
As much as I try to find,

How this weather soothes my heart… my mind

Calling for someone
Sitting on top of a rock,

To have a silent talk

Alone I hum a song
Nobody listening to my quiet sound,

The rain lends music in the background.

Hiding the lord of light
When the clouds covers the skies,

Ohh! What a happy gloomy feeling… arise

Wish this lasts forever
But would it be so pleasant,

If this climate never ends?

The magic of monsoon season
Probably lies in its turn,
After a difficult and sweaty sun.

Fellows till time allows

Those times were so great,
To live fullest, was the only aim,
For which, there is no regret
But now, It’s not the same

Was it my action or word
To which, u put the blame?
Or is life the culprit,
Who spoiled the game,

To not let our thoughts meet
Or is it something else,
Once just once,
Help me, clear the mess

Our friendship is like a butterfly,
Even with a short life,

friendship_poem
We can reach the sky,
This is the time to be happy, not cry
Over things, we don’t have a hold,
Leave it on destiny to unfold,

Till then understand please,
The harshness of life,
Not let disturb your ease

’Coz, it will be difficult for me to bear,
Losing a friend, I really care.

Friend

One more from my not too recently wrote poems;

FRIEND

Looking back, when I think,
On a fine day of spring
I saw you passing through
And I wanted to know who are you?
God must have blessed me then,
Or else, would I be so fortunate,
To befriend a gem.
Not long after, life turned bitter.
A deep blow of hatred,
Made things between us, shatter.
Thankfully but, the past has end,
Making me realize,
The value of a true friend
About future, fate will decide
Whether, we would be apart or together,
But I promise, there will be memories,
That will always linger.

Tale of Time

A little, old poem.....

Tale of time

The time is such a jewel,

Hardly there is anything to it equal
Moves faster than light,
Its influence is mightier than the might
With energy to run so fast
One entire life ends, Like a dream of past
New experiences, new lessons, brings with it,
For each one of us to knit

The time is such a jewel,
Hardly there is anything to it equal
There is nobody who can preach,
Better than what the time can teach
Opportunities for the deserving and the wise,
Time showers when needs rise
Sometimes neat sometimes mess
For the time to favour us,
Let all of us pray,
At the end of the day.

Not Alone

MY MOST RECENT POEM

NOT ALONE

Fate hasnt changed its tone,
Still not anymore I m alone
Around me the light of sun rays,
Has illuminated all my days
When no one was with me,
Cuckoos gave me company
In solitude, I can now be never,
Maybe now I have grown clever
Found many friends around,
They were always here making silent sound
To hear them it took me a while,
Until they brought me a smile
Pain of the world they shoo away,
The mild wind cheers me up in a sway
Fate hasnt changed its tone,
Still not anymore I m alone
Worries bothered more at night,
When black sky wins over white
The twinkling star-studded sky plays a part,
Sad thoughts doesnt get a start
Wonder, when I was told
In the times very old,
Even with very little to spare,
Together with peace, people stayed pair
Probably, their hearts did nurture,
A kind friend called NATURE.

Lessons of Life

Writing is in itself very relaxing and it gets better if the writing rhymes. Thats what makes writing a poem more rewarding than any other form of writing. My definition of a Poem would be, writing that makes sense and rhymes well. Although I have seen a lot of people writing poems, which may makes sense but doesnt rhyme and sometimes it is absolutely senseless too. At first I thought what a crazy world this is. But on second thoughts, if by writing something you feel better then why not.
After all, writing is a good way to soothe your soul and mind. When I wrote my first poem, the joy it gave me was in abundance and left me guessing if I really wrote it. I wrote my first poem when I was 24 years old. Although I could convert my thoughts into words very easily, it took me 24 years to bring out the poetess in me. Its all a matter of trying out things, I guess.

Another funny thing is as much as I love to write poems, I am very choosy about reading them. Honestly, some poems doesnt make a good reading. The person who wrote it can only bear to read it. Such poems are special poems. Because the mind doesnt interfere at all, its 100% involvement of the heart.

I always looked for some specific guidelines for writing poems. Wouldnt it be easier then for anyone, that is writing poems. However many would argue that poem is a form of creative writing. And for creative writing there cannot be dos and donts. Or maybe there are but I am unaware of.

This is one of my favorite poems:

Lessons of life

In your eyes, dear friend,
I see a look
Which fails to understand,
Why every attempt of yours,
Turns out to be such futile endeavours
But then, O’ dear, dont you know,
With every strike of fire,
Gold earns some more glow
Things not moving where u want them to go,
Is it why you are feeling so low
But then, O’ dear, don’t you know
Time teaches us a lot,
And decides what we are waiting for
If we are worthy of it or not
When things go wrong just sit tight,
Its god’s way of putting in u, that extra light
Trust me, will come the day,
You will find your way
Walking which, your heart will feel,
All the past wounds heal.
